Sorry everyone for leaving half way through, the sound was terrible, I couldn’t hear you at all…just a high pitched noise and then static. Perhaps it was the fan or projector noise it was picking up. I’ll have to catch up on here or via email

I won’t be in the meeting today, I feel absolutely awful. I’m DL Skype as that was mentioned for the last meeting so I can listen in. I think that wolsey is down for maintenance as I cannot log in (I also cannot check if it needs unlocking on the reset page so I think it’s down.) to email Heike, so I hope you get this instead! I haven’t used Skype before, so how do I connect to you all in the meeting?

These are the five images selected to represent my New York project in response to the theme ‘Surveys From A Small Island’.

I was inspired for this subject at New York’s prestigious ICP, photography degree show. A colour print of two young women, with one being the photography student, who were complete strangers when they agreed to an offer to bed share due to the high cost of accommodation in New York. I was shock by the contrast of this sacrifice when fees at the ICP are of c$30,000pa. This led me to consider how little private space some people must have and then what their options would be to achieve this.

My project title is ‘Public Exclusion’ and over four days I observed people in public who in my opinion were creating space intended to exclude the public. Each image will be printed to A1 size and mounted on black MDF.

The text inserted at the time of upload vanished so here does again: This image will be mounted on MDF preferably to A0 size. This will bemy first attempt at producing an A0 print from my Nikon D3 full frame digital file, so may decide that an A1 is more appropriate. Have the print file ready to run a test early next week.
